What's the difference between Aquamarine and Blue Topaze??

They are two very different stones chemically. Different classifications of mineral even. The main basic difference is hardness. Topaz is harder than aquamarine.
Topaz can be several different colors aqua can't

two complete different kinds of blue
topaze is much darker and the other is like water a bit seethrough.
