hi there can anyone help me? im doin research on nursery rhyme stereotyping.. if anyone can help id be most appreciative.

Nursery rhyme stereotyping:
poem stereotype
Bobby Shaftoe (He'll come back and marry me)
What are girls made of (sugar and spice)
What are boys made of (snips and snails)

Most stereotypes in nursery rhymes are incidental; most "mother goose" is encoded political rhetoric of the time.

For example, Mary Mary quite contrary/ how does your garden grow/ does not refer to some cliché of female behavior...

It refers to Mary Tudor, daughter of King Henry VIII, who as a devout Catholic became known as bloody Mary because of all of the torture in the name of religion.
