Yes, if you go to a properly registered and qualified piercer, with a clean studio.
All equipment should be sterile and fresh. The piercer should wear gloves and be clean.
Check out any studios you are thinking about using on the internet before you go. There might be reviews or warnings about particular places.
Afterwards, follow the full aftercare procedure.
Naturally, having a piece of metal in your tongue can lead to certain dangers - for instance, it's easier to break a tooth, and there's always a danger of catching the stud on something and damaging your tongue. You do have to be a bit careful, but you probably realise this.
Of course, it's safer *not* to have your tongue pierced! But, if you want it done, you can certainly find a way to do it safely if you use your common sense.

If u know who to go to. When u go to a the place to get your tongue pierced ask the piercer is he certified to do this. make sure they use sterilized equipment and use new needles to pierce u with and ask them these questions. If u want u can ask them to refer u 2 someone whose tongue they have pierced and ask that person what they think about the job they did and did theirs get infected. If the person tells u they used all sterilized and new equipment and their tongue didn't get infeted it's probably safe to go ahead. But if the person tells u their tonge got infected after getting it pierced at the place u are thinking about going to, then u should probably find somewhere else. And PLEASE don't let your friends do it or someone who doesn't work in a shop. They may tell u they know what they're doing and that they use new and sterile equipment but they could be lying. So just ask questions.

depends on what you consider acceptable. Any and all bacteria in the mouth will work their way between the post and the hole in your tongue. Those who wear tongue posts have a much higher level of bacteria in their mouth. Also, I have never seen a patient yet who does not chip and break their lower front teeth, eventually, with the little ball on the end of the post.

Perfectly safe, I've had mine done for 10 years. Just go to a reputable place and make sure you follow the instructions afterwards.

depends where you go to get it pierced make sure it's not some random person that doesn't know what they're doing and you should be fine. sometimes it's not safe cause there's veins in there, but whoever's doing the piercing should know that they're doing and NEVER do this yourself.
