I don't think Jesus would support any war. "Holy war" is an oxymoron.

Why do you think Jesus wouldnt support any war earlier answerer????? Sometimes non action is what is truly evil. Do you think Jesus would want people to just suffer under the subjugation of a dicatator like Hussein, or Hitler or Stalin because war is so evil? Wouldnt a gvt that took away the rights of its citizens to profess their religion and belief in Christ be in direct conflict with what Jesus would want? There is nothing in the Bible that would make me believe that Jesus felt war was never the answer. In fact, sometimes war is the only good thing you can do in a situation.

Jesus would not support Dubya's middle eastern resource wars. Jesus despised hypocrites and our entire government is composed of nothing but hypocrites.

No, Jesus was a Liberal and was against murder and theft. I also believe he was against pedophilia - (Mr. Foley)
I think the God that George was talking to must have been in disguise. Either that or that Big Old Owl - Molech down at the Grove must have misguided them all.
Who knows, but no, Jesus would not have supported a murdering madman and a drunken coke addict.
And I am sorry to disappoint, but Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11. Somewhere down the line it might have been appropriate to remove him from power, but to stray from the "War on Terror" to give Iraq a 5 year failed democracy is not about respecting those victims on 9/11. It shows that this Government wanted to get into Iraq for their own reasons.
To think, these supporting idiots think it is better to keep our troops dying in Iraq just to make themselves feel safe in America. That is both cowardly and non American. There are still countries who can attack us at any time, so you are both stupid and uninformed!
Iraq means nothing in the "war on terror", except that it is now a magnet for terrorist to come in and kill our young service men and women like cowards with roadside bomb and suicide martyrs.
And for your information, all of these so called insurgents that are attacking our troops are the very people we are giving democracy, training them in our military tactics and gave weapons to. They are sick of being occupied and are forced into a jihad because their faith demands there be no occupation. For that you can thank Mr. Bush
As long as we are there, Bush will have someone to call a terrorist or an insurgent!
It really is quite mad!

Correction: Jesus IS alive today. If He returns to earth today, Christ would be ruler of the earth and there would be no war anywhere.

It's pretty hard to find scripture where Jesus is promoting war and greed. I've searched! He seems to only talk about love and tolerance and helping the poor and the dangers of loving money. Hmmm...
I imagine that if He came back today, most right-wing churches would take Him out and crucify Him all over again!

well. It depends...Really you have to ask if Jesus would support machine guns, land mines, heavy bombers, tanks, short range artillery, rocket launchers, snipers, and of course ]torture, imprisonment, hanging (gulp!), barbed wire, post traumatic stress syndrome, record profit etc...If he supports these things, then, he would support the war.
Remember, he DID flip the tables over in the temple...

If you look in the Bible, Jesus supported anyone who supported Israel. I don't know about Iraq, but it would stand to reason, if they had attacked the Jews, Jesus would support whoever came to their aid.
If you again take time to read the Bible, you will find God blessed Israel in many ways, to include giving them the power to conquer many of their enemies, most who were larger and better trained.
