I know I have had some very peculiar dreams leaving me feeling ashamed of the things I dreamt. Is there any connection between what one desires and their dreams??

Dreams are simply mental housekeeping. They resolve feelings and logic. They focus on the most recent (bedtime) mental processes (thoughts and feelings). They focus on strong feelings, especially fears and anxieties, and oftentimes seem completely real (because of the way the mind processes the senses and memory). Dreams are not meant to be remembered, and it is not healthy to dwell on them.

The only desires which may be hidden from you are the ones which you are actively hiding from yourself (the state of denial).

While you should not be ashamed of your dreams, this very fact (that you do feel ashamed) reveals to me the likely reason for them. Your mind is trying to find peace with them.

A BIG connection. But be gentle with yourself. A dream is not the same as acting on a desire in life. And sometimes, a dream can help us to act on something we have unnatural resistance to, as when we've assumed someone else's rules and not our own.

I have lately begun to really think so. I've been single for the past two years, and have lately felt kinda lonely. I don't like it anymore.

Anyway, I do dream, and sometimes wish I had someone to be with. I think its a desire to have a close girl-friend, someone I can be with and want to be with. But also, be able to talk to and trust. So yeah they are connected.

Most ALL dreams deal with your desires
or future or past events
Its OK to have sexual type dreams
as long as it isnt about family
were humans with feelings you know
do not be ashamed of desires and feelings
its totally normal
we should have these feelings acted out in our dreams,
it fine to do.
wishing you the best
