I went for my prenatal appointment today, thank goodness they did everything together in one appointment. I go for my first ultrasound tomorrow, The doctor wants to see how far along i am, but it's probably not going to show much, right? maybe if we're lucky, just a sack? Help me out?

I got my first u/s at 5 weeks and 5 days. Didn't see a whole lot, I don't know how to describe what I saw (looked like just a collection of tissue) but it had a heartbeat and I got hear it. U/S was done transvaginally, it was awesome.

With my first pregnancy I had a u/s at 7 weeks and 4 days and I saw what looked like a little peanut and got to her my daughter's heartbeat.

I had my frist ultrasound at 6weeks 5days. We did the ultrasound to find out the due date and see if we could find a heartbeat.

All you will see is a little sack and maybe an outline of the baby. If they do an Internal then you will get to hear and see the heartbeat. Its a great feeling to see and hear the heartbeat.

The doctor will measure the baby and sack and give you your due date. You will also get another appointment when your around 11-12 weeks to do a pap and let you know the results of your blood work.

Congratz and Best of luck.

Congrats!!! Here's a couple of links that show just what's going on at this point. A couple of highlights: your baby is the size of a bean and it's heart is now beating. The ultrasound will help determine the fetal age and a more accurate due date. But I have seen ultrasound pics from another mom at the same time (6 wks). There's more there than just a sack. You'll see a little bean in there, too.

I might desire to have an ultrasound as early as a probability using fact i've got had an ectopic and that they want to be sure each and every thing is the place is must be. They make me wait until my blood tests come back asserting i'm a minimum of 6 weeks alongside in the previous they do an ultrasound so they are able to make certain they are able to work out some thing. i became instructed they are able to't see the toddler or a heart beat until 6 weeks. Even then it became annoying to work out and regarded like a tiny kidney bean with a single pixel fluttering on the demonstrate screen.

I just went for my 1st ultrasound yesterday! I'm 9 wks 3 days and I got to see the heartbeat which is amazing. This is my second baby and until yesterday, I've been forgetting I was pregnant, probably due to the fact I've been chasing a 1 1/2 year old around. But once they see the heartbeat, your chance of miscarriage drops to like 5 % which is really reassuring. Just wait for the 20 week ultrasound, the baby is fully formed and you'll see so much more.

At six weeks, you hardly tell. There is a little sac, but usually no baby to be seen. Don't worry if you don't see anything inside the sac. At this point, the baby is so small that it is usually undetectable. If you are farther along then you thought, then you will see something.

They will probably try with an abdominal wand, but if they can't see anything, they will let you go to the bathroom and do a vaginal scan. Don't worry. It doesn't hurt. It can be a little uncomfortable when they are moving the wand around, but it isn't bad at all.

You may see a cyst on one of your ovaries- that's normal. It's called the corpus lutium. It acts as the placenta until the baby makes one, so if they say you have a cyst, don't be concerned. Good luck and I hope you get to see something!!!

I remember when i went for mine it looked exactly like a little lima bean and that is what we called her until we found out it was a her. You will see that and you may be lucky enough to see the buds where the arms and legs are forming. Good Luck and i wish you all the best.

A peanut, basically. But it's your first baby photo, and that is COOL. Depending on how high tech the computers are it may be pretty neat!

Congratulations mom! Be sure they give you a video and photos to take home.

I think I read that drinking lots of water before the appt can make the pics even better. You may want to look into that.

I had one at 5 weeks and 6 days that showed what was like a tiny grain of rice with a tiny flasing heartbeat. The heartrate will probably be pretty slow early on. Mine at that time was only 97, but that is because it was just getting developed.
Good luck!!!!!

I had one done at 7 weeks and the baby was too small for an accurate estimate. I had to go back two weeks later. At this point it will look like a little peanut.
