I have seen a lot of questions on here in at least three days that start with "am i pregnant?" When in reality, if you are ovulating and have unprotected sex, there is a chance you can get pregnant (or something worse)

I know most of these people are young (at least i can only hope they are) because only they can be afraid to go buy condoms to protect their lives (or get them for free from most clinics) to not have to have to ask on Yahoo! "i had sex, am i pregnant" when we are not mind readers here and we cant xray through a computer screen into your uterus to tell you if you are seeded with a child or not when it is just as simple as going to get a otc test or going to the doctor (whice i see most are scared to do too)

So again i ask, Which is more embarassing, buying (or getting them free from the clinic) condoms or a pregnancy test?

Neither (and i know you ment pregnancy test)

Sometimes i wonder the same thing. This is why i try to educate as many teens and young adults as i can... you thought you were adult enough to have sex... be adult enough to either buy condoms or at least go to the doctor and make sure you did not catch your DEATH

AIDS is the gift that keeps on giving... AND I DONT WANT IT

I bought condoms when I was young and once when I was younger I had to buy a pregnancy test. They looked at me about the same way from what I remember. I will say however, I felt more worse buying the test, like everyone was judging me. I wasn't pregnant, but I will never forget that. At least with the condoms, you look somewhat responsible. With the test, people look at you like where are the condoms.
BTW, quit reading the "am I pregnant" questions, they give you a headache after awhile.

I just read downinmn's response and I think that kind of reasoning is one of the reasons we have problems with teenage pregnancy. Don't criticize kids for being responsible. Obviously, we haven't been able to stop them from having sex, so why should we make them feel bad for protecting themselves. THINK!!!!!

First of all you're wrong. A lot of the women on here asking "am I pregnant" are married or in committed relationships. They know about practicing safe sex and they know about STD's. They are also anxious about taking a pregnancy test and being disappointed.

I don't think it's fear the way you mean. I'm afraid to go to the doctor for a pregnancy test. Yes, but not because I think I got pregnant by accident. I'm afraid all the symptoms are in my head and I'll feel foolish or paranoid if I go to the doctor now.

It is more embarrassing to buy Tampons than to buy a pregnancy test. And worse so to buy condoms.

i don't think either are........ If a person is embarrassed to get condoms or birth control or a pregnancy test then they are definitely not ready to take on the responsibility of sex!!!! I have a teenager and he says that is why self-checkout is a favorite for some kids!!!! But he also says that he wouldn't be embarrassed because protecting yourself can be life or death!!!!

First off, there's no such thing as a birthcontrol test. If what you mean is pregnancy test, then I'd have to say that the test would be more embarassing than the condoms.
One should never be embarassed for being smart about having safe sex.

I agree with you. What's the problem? If you're not mature enough to go into a clinic and buy condoms, then you're definitely not mature enough to be having sex.

I hate to think of all the sexually transmitted diseases all of these careless people are spreading because they don't use condoms. And all the unplanned babies born to irresponsible parents who can't even be bothered to take the most basic of precautions.

honestly i don't think any are embarrassing, as long as you are mature. i do find it funny though, that when i was a kid, it was very hard to buy condoms...i new i was too young to engage in such actions, and now i have a kid my self..he is a blessing no matter what, but i should have got over the embarrassment..better yet, not had sex til married..lol

Umm, well, i feel your pain. I used to be embarrassed buying condoms back in the day and also the same feeling with pregnancy tests, but honestly, the people at the register don't care what you're buying, they scan it and put it in the bag. So, let your fears rest... At least you're being smart and buying contraceptives! Good luck to you, and hey, don't worry! Millions of condoms and pregnancy tests are bought every month all around the world, nobody is looking at you! :)

Ok, let me put this simply. If you are "un-embarassed" enough to have sex, you should not be embarassed to buy protection or a pregnancy test.
