I recommend you try making Kool-Aid Play Dough. I've provided some recipes below. It smells great!

Kool-Aid Play Dough

Ingredients
2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup salt
2 packages unsweetened Kool-Aid, any flavor
2 cups boiling water
3 tablespoons oil

Combine the flour, salt and Kool-Aid. Add the water and oil. Stir to combine. Cool slightly, then knead with hands to form dough. Store in an airtight container.

Kool-Aid® Play Dough

* 1 cup flour
* 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
* 1 package unsweetened Kool-Aid
* 1/4 cup salt
* 2 tablespoons cream of tartar
* 1 cup water

Mix flour, salt, cream of tartar and Kool-Aid® in a medium pot. Add water and oil. Stir over medium heat 3 to 5 minutes. When mixture forms a ball in pot, remove. Knead until smooth. Put in a plastic bag and refrigerate.

Kool-Aid Scented Play Dough

1 cup cold water
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 packages of the same flavor Kool-aid unsweetened flavored drink mix
1 cup flour
1/4 cup salt
5 teaspoons cream of tartar

1. In a pot, combine water, oil, Kool-Aid, and salt.
2. Heat and stir until salt dissolves.
3. Add Flour and cream of tartar all at once to above.
4. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until well mixed and dough forms a ball, (this should only take a couple minutes).
5. Remove from heat once the dough forms into a ball.
6. Cool on a clean baking sheet, kneading the dough as soon as it is cool enough to handle.
7. Cool completely, and let your kids play away!
8. Store this play dough in a resealable plastic baggy or plastic container.
9. It should last for a couple months, depending on how often your children play with it.

make a stiff dough with plain flour, but look for a packet of walpaper paste that has an added non-toxic antifungal ingredient - add 10g of that with every 100g of flour (this will prevent fungal growth) - also add 20g of table salt with every 100g of flour (this will stop bacterial growth)... colour your play doh with simple household food colourings... then to finish, add 1ml of oil to every 100g to prevent it from drying out.
