Much like reality TV participants, the criminals on Cops are hoping to extend their 15 minutes of fame into a lifelong career.

Ive seen once or twice where they tried to hit the camera out of the guys hands or were yelling "Get that thing outta my face!" It is pretty amazing it doesnt happen more often though

the real question should be why do they sign the release to be on TV, If i got busted for beating my wife (which i dont) or dealing or getting a hooker. why would you want your face on national TV.
They migh cut that footage out or show it when they do talk to the camara man.

They probably do, but the TV editing people cut it out.....that's my guess!
