If a person were to be cloned it depends on what they have if they would be cured. Cloning uses stem cells (undefined cells) to create the clone. HIV is a virus and if these stem cells were infected it is likely that the clone would have HIV. It would not be cured. Cancer is caused by many different things. If the cause was primarily genetic the clone would be as succeptable to getting cancer than the original. However if the cause was environmental (i.e. cigarette smoke) it is likely that the clone would not get cancer.

As for the handicap it would depend how the person came to missing that body part. If they lost it in an accident it would not be lost on the clone as that is not genetic. However if they are missing limbs due to genetics the clone would still be missing the limbs.

You make a clone of yourself, and when it is mature (not 20 minutes -- that's pure science fiction -- try several *years* to maturity) your young clone/twin will have organs that can be transplanted to you. Your body will receive them without any rejection.

Of course, the life of your twin/clone will essentially be over, but you will live on. What do you care -- he's just a kid with nothing better to do with his life, anyway. [end sarcasm]
