you are only pregnant if your BBT stay up for 48 hours after ovulation?

My BBT went from 98.1 to 98.6 when i ovulated then the next day it was 98.3 and then went back up to 98.5 and today it is back to 98.3.

No. You might have had a disturbance with your temping. Your temp should stay up about 5 days. Like it would jump one day from 97.3 - 97.8 and stay around 97.9-98.1 for a few days. Thats a good sign of ovulation PLUS your CM. (cervical mucus) If you don't get your period reg, then take a test on the first missed day or a day after.. Don't try and take an early test like they all say you can. They almost never work!!!

I tracked my BBT for six months and as far as I know your BBT should stay up for the rest of your cycle. Your BBT should rise at the time of ovulation and continue to stay around that temp. It is normal for your BBT to stay above 98.0, it showes that your body will support the pregnancy. If you are pregnant it will continue to stay up past the time you are to start a new cycle. If you are not pregnant your BBT will drop around the time you are start a new cycle. I hope this helps.

If your temperature stays up for 18 days or more after ovulation, you should test for pregnancy
