It really depends on your interests...speech and cognition and knowledge of swallowing go hand in hand with speech.

Teaching people how to manage their normal daily self care routine, fine motor coordination, teaching people with low vision how to function, managing hand related disorders are realted to occupational therapy.

Walking, balance, manual therapy for neck and back pain, returning to a normal function...all related to PT.

All have similar advancement opportunities...ie, becoming a department manager, etc...and all are in demand.

Go with your gut.

My guess is that physical therapy might be the best income and have the best possible career advancement. I think speech therapy might also be good. They all go hand-in-hand sometimes. People with serious injuries, physical disabilities, stroke victims and countless others may need one or all of the above to acquire & maintain quality of life. I believe there is a huge demand for all of these occupations. See if you can find surveyed reports or studies on the predicted future of these 3 occupations. You can find such information on the internet. I am torn between a few things myself and have been doing a bit of reseach as to where I would like to go from here. I am a medical transcriptionist & I must better my education and increase my income potential. Good luck.

I would think they all have similar advancement opportunities. Speech therapists often work in schools or community centers for a school district. That would make me think there are more opportunities for them at an entry level.

My mother is a Speech Therapist and she has seen very high demand here in the Midwest.

Go with what you love. Your best impressions on your clients and bosses will come not from What you do but How you do it.
You will advance when you are happiest and most productive.
Good luck to you and yours!
