now i love music. stress the LOVE. however, it just quite boggles my mind that a channel that has the privilege of being called MUSIC Television(MTV) shows mainly reality tv. whatever music they do show, is not really music-in my opinion- but what the public wants, and when i say public i mean hormone crazed teens(not all of them since i am one myself). the MTV awards is a public gimmic. i mean, if your name MEANS music, that is what your main focus should be. not spoilt rotten 16 year olds who splurge on ridiculous parties, not reckless young adults who are put to live under one roof to fight for months and do nothing worthwhile, not straight, gays and in-between on dating shows, but MUSIC. every genre, every type. not just pop, hip-hop and punk rock and emo. i mean, i know I'VE NEVER seen a video or show on MTV about jazz&blues, neo-soul, opera, classical, folk or oldie classic artistes.
so do you think MTV should change their name or show more appropriate shows? ,MTV HEAR MY CRY!

I'm with you. My BF (30 year old) wants to watch REAL WORLD and all that crap. I hate, hate, hate hearing a bunch of fame crazed whiners on TV spouting off lame I just learned this in Philosophy 101 crap to each other.
I don't like to listen to others argue and complain, and give their meaningless two cents about "issues".
And the Racing Ones....EGAD. Even worse.
I love Music and MTV bites.
Is that Sweet 16 Atrocity on that channel too??

Well maybe since it is all reality shows and games shows now. Remember the 80's when videos were all they showed? They still have the VMAs each year but it doesn't make sense to me because they hardly show any music videos except for at weird hours or the video wake up.

OMG I totally agree with you on this one. They should be ashamed of themselves for giving in and showing crap all day....and no music. I mean what ever happened to hours and hours of just music videos? MTV's gone to hell in a hand basket!(I think thats the saying)

They should all they show are shows and about 4 hrs. worth of videos in the morning that sucks and they play the same ones over.

They should go back to what they were doing day 1, even if they have to play just 80's again. I HATE all "reality" shows.
They try to say that their programming is cool lifestyle. It's brain damage.
