I wish I could just pick up and move for those reasons! You are lucky to have a choice. Get on line and scope some places out. I am not trying to start a fight but my husband HATED living in Texas and a friend's daughter hates Scottsdale.
There is crime every where. It eventually gets warm everywhere, too. I prefer to live near family myself!
My son, however, lost his job in Michigan (big surprise, it's a ghost state) and today as we speak is moving to Virginia Beach, Virginia. I am hoping to get to visit in about 6 weeks.
He said whne he went for the interview that it was really nice and really pretty there.

Off of this planet,lol.
I am looking for the same thing.
I live in a tourist trap town in Missouri and casinos are on their way to be built here, bringing in MORE drugs and crime.
My husband and I are looking for a couple acres to own and to grow our own food and have a little farm.Probably in Montana or South Dakota, so far.

I live in Morro Bay, Ca. Moderate temps(no scorching heat, no freezing cold) lots of sun...low crime........and the beach. What more could you ask for . Oh ya, no humidity.....ever. Love it.
