It really depends on how long you have been divorced.
If the divorce was fairly recent, then your dream makes sense, because a divorce is a type of death: a married life has died, and a post married life begins. Possibly in the dream your wife was trying to explain what caused the end of the marriage.
If the divorce happened a while ago, then it is possible that you are feeling some guilt or resentment. Maybe you should think of making amends with your ex-wife if your divorce was a bitter one.

Do your dreams repeat themselves over and over again? Have any of them came true? I, myself since I was a child have had certain reaccurring dreams and once I noticed alot of them were coming true, the bad and the good ones, I took them as warnings and I took heed and Iam glad I did because a few of them were awful and I actually once saved my son from falling out of the back of a van that my ex husband had been driving. Maybe your ex wife is ill, call and check or maybe you have unworked out feelings about your divorce that you need to address.

Wow that is very intense. I am not sure but maybe she was actually trying to tell you something in your subconcious mind. When I have lost something, sometimes I dream of where that thing is or where I put it. The books about the dreams that the first two mentioned may be something to really look into. I may do that myself. I hope everything turns out for ok for you.

you might have a fear of dying, or of the dead...or just about death in general. Also you may miss your ex-wife, or wish that things turned out differently. Dreams are memories, and repressed thoughts. Things we cant accept to be true.

Do you wish her dead? Maybe you feel guilty for the subconscious thought and want her to be at peace with your wish. So far only the two of you and the "killer" have the intimate details. Perhaps you also want to be the closest person to her, but you are not, and wish she were dead, then she would be close to you. You would be "in the loop".

There are quite a few good books that help to interperate dreams. Try your local library and see if you can find one that will help decipher it. Good luck.
