But I think I'm a lesbian and currently in a lesbian relationship... what would be said on that?

Okay. Well first of all I wish to welcome you Home! Though you have yet to 'do the deed' so to speak, the consideration of converting is the biggest step in this wonderful, crazy journey.

In regards to your lifestyle choice at this time; thinking your a lesbian, and currently in a lesbian relationship that will have to end. Now the Catholic Church states that you may have homosexual tendencies but you may not act on them. Just like I may have the hots for the guy at the grocery store or supper club doesn't mean I can go jump his bones. I have to have discretion in my thought and deed and remain celibate until I marry.

I know of several situations such as yours...well close enough. One that comes to mind is this: There are two lovely ladies that attend our Traditional Latin Mass weekly. They have been together for over 20 years. One was Catholic and the other was agnostic throughout their relationship. The Catholic lady wished to return to the Catholic church. The agnostic...well....LOL... she didn't care. She told me that she approached our priest about returning and explain the circumstances. The priest then spoke with her and Agnostic and wanted (gently) to have the Agnostic come Home too. Due to the emotional, financial relationship that incurred as a result of such a long standing relationship the Priest along with the Bishop agreed to allow these two women to continue live together. This is a case by case basis. And is not a 'rule of thumb'. However they can not live together as lovers, but as friends and roommates. This all occurred around three years ago.

Again, the Catholic Church recognizes you, your soul and your beauty and we want you in our fold. Each of us have crosses to bear, all of us. The choice to live a celibate lifestyle may be difficult, but it is worth it in regards to the Eternal rewards.

The Catholic Church teaches that homosexual behavior is a sin. That having been said, there are plenty of clergy in the Catholic Church who are themselves gay and who are not living celibately. The Jesuits are notoriously a gay order. But -- you are likely to be taught that you are involved in a sinful relationship and should not receive communion unless you have confessed this sin and promised to change your ways. Do you really want to do that? Even if the church you attend doesn't insist on that, that is the official teaching of the church. Now, do you really want to become a Catholic? And by the way, doesn't it bother you to consider converting to a religion that will not ordain women and that teaches that the use of birth control is a sin?

Well, first off, have you read the Old Testament yet? Not only does both the Old and New Testaments have something to say about this(and not in any good way I assure yo, not that I'm attempting to freak you out or anything), but the catholic church is REALLY not all it's cracked up to be!!! Not to mention the fact according to the Bible that only G-D and The Messiah( the Holy Spirit is different yet still from and of G-D) are to be worshiped and spoken to etcetera, etcetera. As to the rest of your question: If you think you're a lesbian, than go with it! Only G-D(and that's what I really think your asking here) can judge you, the rest of us just get to love you as we would love ourselves!

Chrisnir is rite it purely depends on the priest
But Its unfavarable in Christianity, thouh we would love you anyway God does not hate sinners just the SIN
How many gay priests have been found out. Come on youve the stories (mostly pedaphelia) So now they have decided to allow people to be gay and saved. There are plenty of Gy churches available for you now. This is why you will find out that there is only one way through not just to the pearly gates. You really know though I can see it in your question. Its alllright just keep reading and seeking at least you are trying to get closer to Him, its just not gonna be good enough

Well, any true Christian should welcome you, no matter whether your natural, inborn orientation is LGBT or straight. Any church that doesn't is truly not being "christian" at all.

Unforunately, some congregations preach hatred and bigotry. Some Catholic Churches are among them.

You may want to find a local chapter of Dignity, the LGBT Catholic organization. Or, you may want to join a more affirming church altogether, such as MCC, UU or others.

Good luck!

The Catholic Church does not consider being gay or lesbian a sin, but sex outside of marriage, whether it be straight or gay, is a sin.

There's nothing inherently wrong with "being" a lesbian. However, lesbian "acts" are sinful on account they violate the virtue of chastity. In fairness, all sex (hetero and homo) acts which take place outside the marital union are sinful.

It purley depends on the priest. Some would look down their nose to you, others are very friendly. If you want to, give it a shot. You could always just not tell them you're a lesbian.

join the Metropolitan Community Church in your area...Gay oriented, no judgements, perform "ceremonies", and in general, you will be very comfortable. Why join a church that calls you a sinner? Why join a church where you are not welcome? Why join a church that is so hypocritical as to allow their priests to molest children over and over again? And it is not just the Catholic church here..it is most organized Christian religions that tell you that you are a sinner, commit acts against their god, etc. And they will expect you to PAY them to tell you how bad you are...makes no sense to me. Good luck

Do it! I know this guy who volunteers at a Catholic Church and he is gay.If they don't accept you then fine let them be homophobes but this is about your religious faith and your decision.

I'm Catholic and I am tired of people not accepting those lesbian and gay and what not because "Their religion doesn't allow it"
