Same question. I am 40'tyish male of athletic build. I did a decade in the Air Force police and I still am pretty physically fit. I have boxed and wrestled but recreationally. My question is I want to challenge a very good ground fighter and grappler from Haiti who lives in Canada in Montreal her name is Pamela, you can go to her web site to see her. I have seen her in action. She is pretty much unbeatable by a man or a woman. She is about my build but she is about twenty years younger but very experienced fighter. I am 5'10, 170. Who would win? Ladies I want to hear from you also. I'll even take a challenge. (smile)

Genes and upbringing determine your answer

A large Scottish woman from a warrior heritage, brought up in an agressive household, would have more power than a jewish boy who has no ties to violence or exerting phyiscal willpower onto anyone.

If she is in Canada for a sport she will be better than you would imagine because international athletes that live here aren't allowed to fail too much.

Men are physically stronger due to the testosterone we produce. Women are generally stronger mentally because they have a higher tolerance for pain. Considering that she is a lot younger than you and probably in better physical shape, she would probably win.

Well, I think that a man would normally beat a woman in a pure battle of strenght fight, due to physicallogical structure, but in a real fight being smart and having good technical ability is very important.
Personally I'd put my money on brains over brawn.

If they both have equal body mass, a man will be stronger. We are a sexually dimorphic species. Human females simply have a lower muscle to body fat ratio then men. I'm not sexist or anything, these are the facts of the facts and we can not overlook it.

Wrestling isn't just about strength, it's about brains and using your oppenents weakness of balance too.

But I think men are stronger - it's proved out by all the sports where men and women have same build and men out-perform (athletics, cycling, triatheltes)

I was in wrestling and Jujitsu in high school and I'm betting on you. I got to ground spar with a lot of women, all of whom had belts when I had none and it was never fair. I am 6'1" and 165 and I'll spar either of ya. ;)

P.S. Watch out for crotch shots. Every woman of skill I have ever tangled with is vicious with cheap shots if they want to win. Eyes, throat, and crotch. If you hold back she will only piss you off.

You're 40 and box recreationally. She's 20 and pretty much undefeated. Who you THINK would win? She's younger and more serious about it than you. She'll bet you. Sorry chap.
