Of course you can, because there is no such thing as caste, whatever stupid people might say. If they've ever read the scriptures, they'll know that the concept of caste was originally based on occupation. As most occupations were family businesses, the caste became related to the family.
"I am a poet, my father is a doctor, and my mother is a grinder of corn." -- Rigveda
Just as you can change your occupation, you can change your 'caste'. But hopefully, this concept of caste by birth will someday become extinct, its already becoming irrelevant in some areas.
Unfortunately, the government is fuelling such silly notions by their vote bank politics.

Why not? You only said that they can change their name, religion and even the wife..! and why not the caste? . It is as simple as changing the dress. I have practically seen people of some castes putting their surname as "Rao" and starting Hotel business in a distant place from native place. Another easy way is intercast marriage. Second example is right in front of me. A boy from one of the Hindu caste married a Christian girl.. and all the 3 children are named christian names. ... What a tactful conversion without compulsion!!.
But there is a saying that "A Donkey if takes bath in Ganga will not become a Horse". You are what you are.. your mind ..Heart... will not be changed.(Except heart transplanation Surgery!).

Good question!
I've never heard of it being done, though, successfully ... yet.
However, there is someone who has planned to make all the 'isms' --racism, sexism, caste-ism, favouritism, etc.-- nonexistent shortly, for everyone. Sceptical? Read about it :

Let us first understand what caste is:
In those early days, according to Veda's, human beings were divided into four sections based on their merits and were accordingly imposed some duties towards the society.
1> Brahmins - The Intellectuals. They were responsible for so called research and development.
2> Kshatriyas - The physically stronger and active. They were responsible for protection of the clan.
3> vaishyas - The businessmen. These were the ones who were responsible for economical upliftment of the society.
4> Kshudras - All who didn't fall in above three categories. As these people were not fit for any of the above kind of jobs, they used to do the labour work.
People of each category were also trained to enhance their skills so that they can utilize them to their best. This categorization also made sure that each person could earn his living.
However as time passed by society started splitting up and spreading into larger regions. It was difficult to maintain the structure. Surprisingly, few scholars in those times were also into genetics. They suggested that if a person is married to another person belonging to same category, the offspring would spread some of their genetic traits and thus enhanced in the skill set. Hence the fundamental of marrying in the same category came into picture. Since then, people were categorized on basis of their family background and not on it's merits. Each one's family was now responsible for training of the offspring. Hence the fundamental of adopting parental business came into picture. However, marrying outside the so called genetic set was allowed if it was between people belonging to the same merit set.
But as time passed by, evil came into play. Fundamentals of merit vanished. Exploitaion of meek came into picture. Brahmins, kshatriyas and the vaishyas survived the exploitaion. But the kshudras, who could never be uplifted (since they too started marrying in their own set, there were quite few chances of development in the genetic structure of the offspring) and suffered. Now each category was termed as 'Jaat' or caste. You won't find any reference of 'Jaat' in vedas or any such ancient book. Although thewy stated about 'Varna'. Varna orignally was the term which reffered to personality and character of a person and no it's caste. Each Varna was associated with a specific set of abilites.
So finally you belong to a varna, that describes your capabilites, not the one that describes your family chart. Understand your merits, and act accordingly with reference to your varna.
Legally, there's no way to change your caste.
:-)
