Now, for those of you on YA! today, you have no doubt noticed all the hoopla regarding Gen. Pace and his comments and those who support him and those who don't. Now would someone please help me to understand something. A question was posted earlier which made a tongue in cheek commentary as to why should gays bother to serve and instead why not stay home. Now, what I found funny was that many of the same people who vehemently agreed with Gen. Pace suddenly started making comments like "why won't gays fight for their country?" So please pro-Pace people, as my question asks, which is going to be?

Well, judging by some of the answers, apparently only certain soldiers are deserving of respect and the 'other' be damned....nice attitude, real brave.....I wish I could say I was surprised or even somewhat bemused.

Look Java, I know you hate us, but even you can't be that stupid or ignorant. Surely you know better.....then again maybe not. You shoot you mouth off easily enough but never have any facts or real arguments to put forward. I won't report your answer (I don't report anyone as a rule) but I just can't get over your will full hatred of people who have never harmed you in anyway.

It;s just another variation on the same tired theme. Like gay marriage. First they accuse us of being promiscuous, then deny marriage. Very clever. It must be so hard to be a 'conservative' these days--- they seem to be chasng their tail more than anything else.

I leave it up to the military (with civilian oversight) to make the rules regarding who is eligible for service.

I honor those who serve in our volunteer forces. If someone is ineligible, I can't fault them for not serving.

No one is forcing them into the military. I could care less.

We can do the mission with or without them.

I have my preference, though.

Everybody has to fight. They just have to keep their mouths shut and their pants up.
