my house is also afflicted w/ the pesky varmants...you need to find the point of access...completely block it..let the ones who are already there die in the walls ..smell will only last awhile...also consider posting a sign that reads: SQUIRREL-FREE ZONE ..if they're smart enough to find a way in..who knows maybe thy can read!

If you are a DIY'er, the best thing to do is to get a live catch cage trap. You can find them at Home Depot, Lowes or your local hardware store. The best brand I've used is Havahart cages. You will want to follow the instructions for setting and baiting. As you are waiting to catch the squirrel you will want to do an inspection of all possible places this critter could have gotten into. You will want to seal any places where you think this squirrel could have gotten in, because if he is in once he will be in again.

If You aren't a DIY'er then I would suggest calling a local animal control and removal company. They will charge around $80 to come in and get rid of this critter for you and seal up any holes.

traps, poison and then you have to seal up thier entry holes with chicken wire.

The poison option will leave you with dead squirrels in the walls...

Cut branches of any trees near the house to reduce the squirrels' ability to get at the roof. you need a minimum of 3 ft from branch to roof.

There's a small chance of you being able to use an ultrasonic device to drive the squirrels out... If you have a dog that will drive the dog nuts.

Before you go totally "nutty," call Animal/Pest Control!!!!!! They are pro's when it comes to things like that. Squirrels can do some major damage to your wiring if you don't get rid of them soon.
