do you then take time to let it sink or start forming the chain of events that finally resulted in that realization?

I wouldn't categorize a sudden realization as being scary. Rather I say such a realization stops me in my tracks and startles me that I could have been so unaware of that realization until it dropped on me like a stone out of the sky. I feel a need to come to a better understanding of how I could have been so unaware. Normally I think I monitor myself and my surroundings such that nothing like a "sudden" realization could occur. When it does, I feel stupid. Yes, that's a better answer. Not scared, but stupid.

Not really scare me per se...but can definitely shock me, and that can seem kinda scary to te mind(if that makes any sense).

I usually let it sink and then let it go...but there are times when I go back in my mind and think abt what may have triggered the events that started the eventual realization.

Why should "sudden" realizations scare anyone? They are simply an "Ah-hah!" moment, and are natural.

Sounds like you're a dram queen that goes overboard with things that are noticed. "Omigod! Did you see that?!?" Take time to look around you and realize (suddenly, if you like) that everything is proceeding at the pace that it should. Everything is fitting into it's proper place at the proper time.

I think it is natural for sudden realizations to scare people, they sure the hell scare me. We are all so used to the expected....the accepted...that when somthing unknown wanders into our life and all at once we realize what's happened, it scares us to death. Even if the something that came into life is good, we always seem to panic about it and form a plan immediatly. If you figure out that the love of your life loves you back, it is great news...but you still instantly form a plan to approach it. That's my opinion. :]

Depends on what I suddenly realized. If it's something good, then no.
Sometimes, it's like, Wow, why didn't I see that before?"

I call these my "WOW" moments and I cherish every one I get. I don't bother with figuring out how I got there -- I just accept the gift and run with it.
