yesturday i rammed into a pole and went to the emergency room.. long story.

but how do i get the swelling go down? its really big... and besides ice, i've been doing that all day.

It sounds like you might have rammed your head into the pole?? In that case, ICE is the best thing for it, and use ibuprofren as a secondary antiinflammatory. If it does not reduce in size over the few days, call your doctor and ask for other treatment options.

Depending on your medical history and allergies, you can take some over the counter ibuprofen which is an anti-inflammatory and will help reduce the swelling. Depending on where the injury is, too, you can elevate the body part, and also apply ice to it. Never apply ice directly to the skin.....use a pack or wrap it in a towel. Did you get any discharge instructions from the ER?

It depends on where you are swollen. Motrin or ibuprofen will help, if you can soak strips or a brown paper sack in vinegar the wrap the swollen area for a few hours and it will be a miracle. It only is temporary, if you do this a few days in a row you should be good to go.
