Why do when you use a lay down tanning bed does it make that crackle sound? SOunds like the plastic is going to break or something. It makes me very nervous and i think if i knew why i would feel more comfortable with it. And als o do i have to close the bed to be able to tan, i get clostrophobic and would feel better if i could leave it open.

Probobly the sound is the cool plastic heating up. It won't break. You should close the bed to get an even all over tan, but as long as you flip over half way through you can leave the bed open. It will take twice as long for you to tan though. Have you tried the stand up beds? I am not a pro, but I have been tanning off and on for about 10 years.

that's just the sound of your skin cells mutating and possibly dying...oh, yeah tanning causes cancer
