I have a business in London, where i sublet properties and rent them per room. The tenants in the house didn't make use of the 0800 access cards and now I have a huge bill. Is is my responsibility or the tenant's? What action canI take to get my money back, even if they have left the house months ago?????

They were not aware of the fact that only 0800 numbers are allowed, I told them only after I gave them a tenancy agreement. Does this change the story now??

Don't you have a small claims court? You should have taken it out of the deposit. But things could work differently in the UK.

Hi - you had a verbal contract with them to pay the bill so you have full rights for the money back...Get a small claims leaflet form the courts - then get a solicitor to write too the ex-tenants and explain your suing them for their share - ... if your lucky they will pay you right away - if not, then take it through the courts and you will win if they dont appeal....if your lucky they will do nothing cos they are lazy and you will be found the winner by the judge . If you left the phone bill in your name that was stupid and you owe the bill. If the phone bill is in their name they owe the bill. You'd have to sue in small claims court to get your money back.

It is your tenants problem.
