even the heaviest sport bike is under 700 pounds. u pack a 600cc, inline-4 engine that can crank out over 100 horsepower....u got a suicidally fast scooter. even a ninja 500 can pack enough of a punch to get a disrespectful rider in a hell of a world of hurt. most of ur rockets have alumium frames.....it wont take much to get 1 of these scoots at a speed that will smoke dam near anything on the ground....and btw, sport bikes have been clocked on laser radar as hitting 155 mph. the cops even called the manufacturer to verify that this speed could be reached. honda verified it as being possible.....and capable.

I see this question has found its way out of the idiot category. As stated by all of the actually intellligent people in these answers just about all 600's (newer sportbikes)will do OVER 150. Anything bigger only goes faster (generally). Only some of the true high end sports cars have a chance of catching a bike and USUALLY that is only top end. I know there are heavily modified supras and vettes and others than can take bikes at any given speed, but come on look at the price difference. Anyway, aska real question...

Not all 600cc bikes... but just about all newer 600cc sport bikes. Most newer 600cc (and up) sport bikes (GSXR 600, 600rr, zx6, R6) do in fact reach and exceed speeds of 150mph.
Top speed of an 07 CBR 600RR is 162mph.
07 GSXR 159Mph
Dont have the top speeds handy for the zx6 or r6 but I'm sure they are about the same.
The 1000's can hit speeds of 170+ And the zx14 could probably do over 184mph but it is is electronically governed out of the factory at 184.

Even 15 years ago a 600 sports would crack 150mph, modern ones are kicking out 120-125bhp and can touch 160mph. And that is real gps measured speed, not speedometer readings. Speedo's always over read so at a real 150mph the bikes speedo would be showing about 165mph.

Hi Robert,
For a few years now the latest crop of 600cc sport bikes have been pushing 100+ hp and most can in fact reach 150mph, as for the 1000cc machines they have been over 150 for a number of years now.

I know the spec's. That's the answer to your question.
Most all brands of 600cc sport bikes go from zero to 60MPH the same, after that speed all are different.
For example: the Suzuki 600,750,1000cc GSX-R
All go zero to 60 MPH the same times, after 60mph up the 750 and 1000cc are totally different.
