The Democrats, although popular, are still the party of no ideas and no plans... Not only will they not apply pressure, but remember the military spending bill for the war in Iraq they wouldn't pass without a little provision in there for Iran..? Well, they are removing that provision (they made such a big deal about it) which would prevent President Bush from moving against Iran without congress approval.. Sounds to me like the Democrats are terrified that they may be the ones called on to make a decision for once... I guess maybe they are realizing that being a critic is a lot easier than having to make a decision............. Of course some of us already knew that about them..

Because they're more interested in winning the 2008 presidential elections than they are in ending the war in Iraq. They think that people will continue to see this as Bush's war, but if they continue to fund it they are just as responsible. All I see from the Democrats is a whole lot of fanfare for NOTHING. Ooooh, a NON-binding resolution. That'll show 'em.

And look! They're even calling for a timetable for withdrawal.....in 2008....with stipulations in it that allow the President to essentially ignore it if he believes that we must stay longer. Wow, talk about bold.

I'm so sick of these cowards.

It is called manipulating things so that they can show how the Republicans have been so uncooperative to the wishes of the people as expressed in the '06 election that people will increase the Democratic seats in the Congress as well as vote for a Democratic president because Dubya will likely veto anything that would get through Congress anyway. People will be reminded come election day.
