how come in that show pokemon team rocket always got shot into the stratosphere but never died or even seemed to injure? it just doesn't make any sense.

It's a show about young kids who are allowed to roam the countryside without adult supervision instead of going to school. They are encouraged to trap wild animals and teach them to fight each other. Clearly it's not supposed to make sense - just roll with it.
