If someone has true faith then it will never be shaken. Someone who feels threatened does not truly believe in what they say.
As an example, a man who knows God exists cannot have this faith shakened because God will never cease to exist. If the man does falter, it is because of his weakness, not because truth has failed. What is absolutely true will always be true.

Because they rely so much on their faith (to do everything they do and they are comfortabe) and when it is shaken/destroyed then they have nothing to feel comfortable about anymore - they are extremely vaulnerable and they don't like it.
For some reason - they just don't seem to be able to think on their own or have complete faith in them selves.
This is the main reason why I don't go to church; all they do is create false security for people and if you don't do what they say then you'll not get into heaven......... let's be serious here, exactly where is 'heaven'................ I've been on many flights, at 36,000 feet or more higher, and I still haven't found it......
the solar system doesn't show where it is................... and, exactly where is he_ _.............................Earth does have an extremely hot core but I don't think anyone lives there........
TALK ABOUT COMPLETE BRAINWASHING......................

Our faith defines who we are, without it we loose our very delicate sense of self. Whether we place this belief in religion or in self or in more tangible elements such as money and power, once they appear to crumble we find ourselves small and insignificant behind these shields. We become human, to be honest I think no one wants to admit to be fallible, we want to be everything to everybody. We want their admiration, their awe, so when we loose faith in that very thing that affords us this awe we become like everyone else.
In fact our faith or belief in something should stand scrutiny and should by it nature be open to discussion and intepretation. But the desire to be RIGHT prevails all.

We feel scared. It's like what it is being compromised is the only thing we live for. We boggle our own minds and create havoc, forgetting that changes are what takes us away to our destiny or closer to it. Everybody, all of us do this. Everything will be all good, it's just hard to be convinced during these moments.

Guess it depends on how strong someone's faith is. Some folks are farther along in their spiritual walk than others. Has nothing to do with God (if that's who your question refers to.) Has everything to do with the spiritual maturity of the believer.

Coz faith is all we got to know that we're on the right path... so if we lost it.. we're "lost"
That's enough reason to threaten anybody !!!
