I love that movie. I saw it as a second billing to Westworld back in the 70's. It's a pretty tame movie but the topic is kinda creepy. I was about 14 when I saw it and I loved it. I think it would be ok for kids. I was not allowed to see many R rated movies at that age. My parents scoped them out pretty well before we went. It sure is a great dated movie.

not really...its about the future and when people die they are turned into Soylent Green which is then fed to the rest of the population...

I don't think our youth would be interested in the original version. A remake would probably do the trick. If they remade it today then the answer would depend on how psychotic you are trying to make your family.
