Well, if you have to convince him, it will not be real. Another thing, if he hurt you and he knows it and he cares, he will apologize on his own. Men can be dumb in this subject sometimes, but if he is a good man, he will know what to do.

Well if you have to convince him to say sorry he's probably not worth it in the long run and he will probably only be saying it to end the fight and not because he truly feels bad about what he's done.
If he doesn't know he hurt you well that's a different story and you need to sit him down and explain to him why what he did hurt you. Hopefully you won't need to convince him and he will do what is right and apologize. Just make sure you are straight forward with him, don't drop hints or do the silent treatment because he will most likely not realize you are mad or won't know what's going on. (Guys can be dense sometimes)

I am in the same position that you are in. There is this guy that I like and he says that he is in a relationship with someone else. I went to where he work and gave him a card, gift, and candy for Valentine's day and he would not accept it. The secretary put it in his mailbox and when I went back to the place in the afternoon the Valentine's bag was on the floor next to the secretary's desk. That hurt me so much that he took out of his mailbox and put it there. He could have accepted the Valentine's bag that I gave him for just being a friend of mine. He has to think about what he did and say that he is sorry for making me mad and angry also for hurting me that way.

basically, the way i do it is tell him what he did wrong and tell him that he should say sorry for what he had done to you that has hurt you. thats the basic truthful way to get a true sincere sorry.

Tell him, "What you did/said really hurt me - whether or not you meant to, you really hurt me, and it would mean a lot if you sincerely apologized or showed me that you regretted it."
If what he did broke a rule or a law, report him - an apology will be part of his punishment.

You can't get him to tell you anything. That's just the way it is. If he had any respect for your feelings, then he would have apologized already. I think you should let him go and let this pass. If he loves you in any way, then he will go after you and apologize, but if he doesn't, then you just have to let it go.
