I know how to do everything but cannot do it...
I cannot completely relax my body so that I cannot move at all, even if I want to.
I cannot make it so that as long as I stare at something my eyes will start to close.
I cannot mentaly walk down stairs and I cannot imagine any scenary( let alone relaxing).
Has any one got any tips?
P.S: I've tried quantum mind cd's and everything.

Well the most important thing is to find a quite place free from all noise/distractions. Next, finding a comfortable posture. There is no correct or incorrect way to meditate. Try to sit in a position where you feel most comfortable. Can be a chair or couch too...
The easiest thing to meditate on in a candle. Like any other exercise, don't start with too many expectations. If you can sit in a posture for five minutes it is enough for starters! Another important thing is that it does not matter whether your eyes remain open or are shut. Nor is it important to completely keep your mind blank.
Just sit in a quite place, keep your mind calm. When you mind is getting distracted dont try to fight the thoughts, instead let them flow and try to observe them. Imagine that you do not have any control on your thoughts. Try numbering them. Once you see that you are observing your thoughts they start coming less frequently. The mantra that I learnt while meditating is something like this:

"I am peace. My mind is one with peace... I belong to peace.... All I see everywhere is peace.... All I desire is peace...."
etc. etc...
Just sit calmly, in a relaxed posture and keep bringing similar thoughts in your mind. When you try getting into a rhythm you may get distracting thoughts, you might want to move your body.... It is perfectly OK. Even slight body movements/adjustments are fine. Just as long as you just observe them rather than participate in them.... Focus on building this momentum. In beginning it may last only for a minute. But with practice you will see that you can go on for longer....

Actually I practice this anywhere, even at work.... Only thing is to slow down/regulate your thoughts not stop them completely...

This is just the basic stuff. If you want to try this way of meditating, and go advance search on internet for "raja yoga"

You'll probably think I'm crazy, and it's not a method I recommend for everyone.
I make small, fairly simple electronic devices. Nothing spectacular. They take about an hour, to an hour and a half to solder together, and while I'm doing that, you could drive a truck through my lounge room, and I wouldn't notice.
It's not conventional meditation, but it is a meditative experience.
For me, sitting still, breathing exercises, 'mainstream' meditation techniques didn't work. I found my 'escape' from the world another way. A way that suits me.
Don't give up hope of finding something that works for you.

Just try and clear your mind. Picture yourself calm on the bottom of a lake in your own bubble, whenever a distraction enters see it as a bubble floating away until it reaches the surface and pops and goes away.

How do "I" meditate...?
I take a drive to the back woods somewhere with my firearms and find a few pine cones that need some holes. :))
