Don't laugh about anger management, just because your body is using you as a pinball machine doesn't mean that we all can use a little help once in a while. I'm a 48 year old mother of 5 daughters and I took a class for the extra continuing education credits. Guess what? The information that I learned has helped me to handle the difficult patients, upset/angry doctors and frustrated co-workers I work with on a daily basis. In addition, I understand myself better.
As to the hormones, (not cool walking out of class by the way) do you have a school counselor that you can talk to. Maybe a teacher that you trust. A disinterested third party that actually knows you might be better than yahoo. They see you every day, maybe even know your family and your issues. Perhaps even be able to help. I'll be pulling for you. Good luck and GOD bless.

Absolutely it was hormones. Just the other day on the featured news on the yahoo home page they had an article about how all the hormone changes in teens are what's causing teenage moodswings and temperment changes. It will go away eventually, but if this is the first time you've experienced this, be prepared, because it will happen again! Just try to keep in mind why you are angry/sad/upset, and try not to take it out on others. Leaving class to calm down so you don't act out on those urges to punch someone was a very good idea. You sound like a very responsible young woman to me!

wow, no it is not hormones. Sure being a teen you have overactive hormones but that doesn't automatically make you feel like punching someone. Thats totally being naive. You need to examine why you wanted to take that action. Hormones don't "make" anyone do anything. It can heigthen the want, but ultimately you have control. And sometimes people just rub you the wrong way. The important thing is you controlled yourself and didn't do anything.
And btw, to the persons' comment two above, walking out of class is better than hitting someone and hopefully any decent teacher would realize that.

Sounds like hormones. If you can't control your anger, it might be helpful to see the school counselor first, and then maybe go to anger management classes. Try tracking your mood in a daily journal -- look to see if there's a correlation between where you are in your cycle and what your mood is. Keeping a mood diary for a month will be helpful to you for years to come.

It could definitely be hormones. I'm assuming you're a teenager, so you're at a time when everything is messed up hormonaly. Don't worry, everything will settle down in a couple years. If it keeps happening you could learn some techniques to help you calm down, maybe do some meditation, but if it get out of hand you might want to see a doctor.

In addition to your hormones raging, have you eaten? Sudden changes in your sugar level will have a dramatic effect on your emotions. Try and eat breakfast and well balanced meals. Anger management classes could help too. Learning to deal with life on life's terms isn't easy. Remember the only person you can change is yourself.

If you are getting angry for no reason it needs looking in to. You could just need someone to chat to, an impartial ear, and someone to offer friendly advice. Try that first, if it does not work then try talking to a trained therapist who deals with anger issues. Its most unlikely to be just "hormones"

I saw something about that on the news just last nite. The said that anger in teens is due to a hormone that has a calming effect in adults does exactly the opposite in teens. check WB11 on the
web and see if they have more info.

It was hormones. The main sign that its your hormones is that you will have mood swings - your mood will change you anger to sentimental in no time.
I am like that sometimes. I hate it , cuz otherwise I have a pretty good temper.
