Asafa Powell from Jamaica - world record holder in the 100m
Donovan Bailey from Canada - world record holder in 50m

Asafa is more current that Donovan, so he is the fastest today.

Justin Gatlin (an American) tied Asafa's record but then was found guilty of taking banned substances like steroids or HGH.

The followers voted Soto, Fukudome, and Soriano in. Fukudome and Soriano surely do no longer need to play, no longer to point initiate yet Soto has extra HR and RBI than McCann or Martin so he does need to start. Odds are Soriano won't play so there is no problem there. Hurdle further the different Cubs--Ramirez, Dempster, Zambrano, and wood--and purely wood and his 5 blown saves isn't worth. as far as having such a good number of Cubs on the roster hurting the NL possibilities of winning, evaluate that the AL is commencing Pedrioa and Jeter over Kinsler/youthful in the infield and Manny Ramirez over a sane individual in the outfield. And Jason Varitek is on the roster, to boot. Boston will fee the AL this sport this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days.

if u are talking about 'fastest man in the world'...that distinction is usually given to the world record holder of the 100m dash...right now thats asafa powell of jamaica who ran a time of 9.77 sec.

on the woman's side...marion jones is arguably still considered the fastest woman alive amidst the BALCO scandal. however, she doesnt have the world's record for the 100m...that belongs to florence griffith-joyner

i've answered this q before --

asafa powell -- current 100m world record holder from a cold start point of view (meaning from zero acceleration)

but michael johnson easily beats powell's record coming from an accelerated point of view... johnson was measured to have run a 100 meters at 10.6 secs (his world record time for the 200m was averaged for two 100 meters).
