I'm serious. This new energy drink, Mother, is my nemesis! It's being so heavily promoted that suddenly, it's all but impossible to buy any cold energy drink that *isn't* Mother! Now I know what you're thinking 'why don't you just try something new?' Well I did try it, and I could brew something tastier from my socks, for crying out loud! Gimme my old faithful V, any day.

No, I don't think you are nuts... HOWEVER, if you actually DID brew a sock-based energy drink, we'd have serious grounds for a diagnosis of eccentric. If you then proceeded to sip said drink while plotting against your nemesis 'Mother' (complete with film noir asides about how she 'had to be the center of attention' and a few violent glass smashes for dramatic effect), THEN (deep breath... sigh) we might be onto something.
But for now... nuts...? Nope.
