not too often. people will just tune you out if you send them things they don't need and then important information will be missed. try to give them something to do, or a coupon, or something special in each mailing. even if it's just an invitation to try a new product or complete a survey. Maybe 4 times a year? Give them something to look forward to - a tall order - but an admirable one :)

if you know certain things about them like birthdays and anniversary etc then those are the times along with holidays. If not then 1 time a quarter will get it done. Always keep your name in front of your client. We have a service we signed up with at our firm to do just exactly that. It cost us $50 per client to set up a 1 time fee and they pick the 4-5 times a year to send them out and then it continues for I think 5 years.

You don't say what you do-- that could make a difference.

I'd say every 1-3 months on a regular basis. Again, it depends on how timely the message needs to be. Many real estate folks send newsletters etc. monthly.

Quarterly follow up is good. I like to send out cards for Holidays, birthdays and special events too.

What kind of cards? I would do it every 6 months or special events like birthdays!
