As far as biological advantages go:
1. The parent cell or organism (hydra for example) can produce daughter cells that are clones of themselves. The parent cell produces cells that have the exact same DNA as they do. The organism a plant can use the principle of totipotency (when you take a part of the plant [leaf] put it in the ground and it will grow its own identical plant) to produce its on clone.

2. The organism can produce with no sex. Therefore, the organism does not need a partner to reproduce and have its own offspring.

1) parent plant doesnt need 2 waste energy in producing a pleasant scent or colour 4 bees and birds 2 come take its pollen

2) the offsrping has the same [favorable] characteristics as the parent - so there's no risk of only a certain % - 100% yield.
