Nowadays most of them aren't even fortunes, they are platitudes..

I would say it depends on the fortune. If it says to leave my husband and kids to run off with a man that gives eternal happiness, I'm going to laugh and throw it away. If it says i'll have many kids with great happiness then I hope thats true... but basically I take then for what they are worth, free with the meal!

No, but I do know that you should always add "in bed." to the end of the fortune. I got one the other day and it was EMPTY! Isn't that bad luck- or is it good luck...?

Nope, but I LOVE the taste of those cookies and read 'em. Some people just chunk 'em in the trash (BTW: ours in Texas, from most places, have numbers for the lottery if you play it).
