Also, have you ever heard of the novelty party?

Their ideas seem far fetched but if it is or if it was possible, I'd definately go for them.

I am a Democrat because I believe in paying as you go. I believe in looking after your fellow man. I believe in fairness for the majority. I believe in a nation with great diversity, all welcome. I believe in small government and that to be effective govenment must be at a more local level not so much national level. I believe in a person being able to make up his or her own mind about what happens to their bodies and not have some narrow minded agenda shoved down their throats. I believe in a person's right to worship or not as they please and not have someone try to shove that person's religion down their throat. I believe in a strong defensive military and that we should never attack another sovereign nation unprovoked. I don't like corruption. I believe in fairness in all things, wages, access to quality medical care and medication. I believe in looking after our elderly, they who paved the way for us to live well. I believe in a liberal interpretation of the Constitution, spirit of the law as opposed to letter of the law. I don't favor abortion but do not try to condem those who disagree with me. I do not approve of the death penalty and do not try to condem those who disagree with me. I believe one should be alert and challenge our leaders when they are not doing what they are supposed to do for us. That is why I am proud to say I am a life long Democrat.

i was a republican until a few years ago.

i believe in small government, tight immigration laws, a strong military, capital punishment, limiting social programs, and the like -- but i'm also pro-choice.

until 2004, i had never voted anything but republican. Reagan in 84, Bush(41) in 88 and 92, Dole in 96, Bush(43) in 00. but the current administration and RNC leaders turned me away from the party in about 2003. so, in 2004, i voted for the Libertarian candidate Bednarik because i couldn't vote for Bush(43) again and i sure as hell couldn't vote for a guy like Kerry (or most other democrats).

that said -- i guess i've become an independent since neither major party actually represents me in the way that i would like.

Actually I am neither. America would be better off with a good third party. Neither the Democrats or Republicans are worthy to govern this great Country. Both parties are much too interested in money and political gain and ego.

I am neither. I think it is silly to think that one party would be absolutely just or correct. I think that we should adopt ideas from both parties and work together as one nation instead of butting heads with each other. It also angers me when someone votes for a candidate and when he or she isn't elected, they hope that the opposing party does poorly. Where is the logic in that? Just because you are a republican doesn't mean that you should vote straight ticket just because the candidates are republican as well. Personally, I tend to be conservative with money and slightly liberal with people and their rights..

Neither, because both are lying their @$$es off to the American public, and keeping us in a circle of BS.

Republican. I believe in working hard for my own future and my family.

To the democrat below me, Democrats do care about the poors! for their votes only, of course.
