I am an American school teacher moving to Canada with my girlfriend. I have heard that it is hard to get a teaching job in Canada, and I don't know if the pay is enough to support a family. I have a masters degree in Education. We are not moving for a while, so I can get more education in the states, or some in Canada after we move...I don't know.

ANY info about teaching/working in Canada would be great.

Actually, teachers' salaries in Canada are much higher than in the U.S. The difference between, say, North Dakota and Saskatchewan is a ratio of almost 1:2.

You could search for jobs based on your qualifications on some of the major job websites like Hotjobs,Monster, Craigslist, Careerbuilder and post your resume on these job boards. More information available at http://tinyurl.com/emdyn

good luck. the employment situation in canada is not great and they will hire canadians first. if you do get lucky and get a job it usually has great benefits and canada has some decent social programs, however taxes are very high...15% sales tax years ago when i was there.
