I learned a long time ago - you can't argue with a chronically stupid person -- it just brings you down to their level. Work around their stupidity and hope they're not too stupid to learn from people who aren't as stupid as they are. (Unfortunately, I've also learned that some stupidity is incurable.)

This sounds like a question I would ask, it would make me sound like an @ss, but I would ask it. Although I'm very cynical and people point that out all the time, im very intolerant, whoda thunk it? I've found that instead of punching people in the face, just answer their questions, dont respond to any regular comment, open and shut door, and if you get the chance, walk out of the room. Some people don't understand how hard it is to tolerate someone so stupid, the difficulty level varies from person to person.

stupid is a relative term.
meaning not very much unless placed into some relationship context.
differences of realizations give definition to what is realized/related and experienced for one in relationship to an other.
people who are considered stupid are simply people who are meeting with living conditions versus their own personal realizations creating inadequacies for the mind of they who perceive what is stupidity.
nonsense word "stupidity" is. but it has got a lot of attention.
so i guess it is not as dumb as it looks.

Just realize that the world is full of people who are uneducated and since you're smarter than they are, be tolerant. Great minds rise above pettiness.

I wouldnt even conversate with them. Its a waste of time and energy and you'll just look like a fool trying to prove a point to someone like that.

Try not to give that person any responsibility at all or get involved in a project or undertaking in which they might be involved.

Look at them and say nothing when they speak (or after). They will stop coming to you to say stupid things.
