So many folks said it was not possible. Gene is right--it IS possible, just very expensive. Essentially you knock three protons out of a lead nucleus using an atom smasher. Since there is no way to do that with good precision, you have a lot of rubble to sift through to collect the gold. It also requires a considerable amount of energy.
Pb is element 82, Au is element 79.

All metal atoms are made of the same building blocks of protons, neutrons and electrons, but in different quantities, so in theory it could be possible to change base metals into gold or any other metal of value to mankind. In practice, it is achieved only in nuclear reactions, where heavy radioactive metals decay into other lighter elements, including some isotopes of gold. However, man's ancient dream of turning base metals into gold is not a practical proposition. So it remains a dream!

specific, theoretically we can replace each and every of the climate to others. inspite of the undeniable fact that it demands rather severe power!! this is suitable with their electrons and protons and electrons. It ability we want nuclear reactions and severe power. there is likewise radiation. quickly, virtually, to alter lead into gold won't have the ability to be authentic, yet not impossible. P.S: this is greater costly than purchase gold! Gold success!

It's possible, but you need a thermonuclear bomb to do it.... you need to fuse additional protons to the nucleus of lead atoms, which takes an extraordinary amount of energy - both heat and pressure.
Good luck with that.

No it can't. Gold is not made and cannot be made from any other metal, nor can any other metal(s) be made into gold. It's a noble metal, meaning pure in it's natural state.

Magic or divine miracle, there is no other way.
Once we have a better handle on nuclear fusion, it might be possible, but this is still doubtful.

It's been done. Here's an article but it's so expensive, it's not practical.
