Go to the lawn and garden department and a big bag (or two) of ortho. Read the backs of the bags to determine which one you need. Spread on your lawn and or border the perimeter against your house. Then bomb your house using foggers a few days later. Grant's Ants do not work. Use the ones from Raid, that look like little new-age hexagon condos lol.

I have an ant problem too. I was told that there is an ant nest by my house but unfortunately the ground is still frozen and I can't do anything about the nest right now. I got this stuff called terro from the hardware store. Its a liquid that comes in an oragne box. It takes a couple days to work but it really kills them. I've also been spraying the house inside and out every other week. I heard that those things you put in the ground work great. If your ground isn't frozen try some.
I have a pretty clean house too so i'm not calling you dirty but try moving your fridge and stove. After I cleaned out those crumbs and got the tarro i've noticed vast improvement.

I used to live in an old house, and for some reason every Summer when it would get really hot and humid ants would fill my kitchen. One thing that really works, even though it's a bit messy, is baby powder. Ants hate it. All you have to is place a barrier of baby powder around the area that they're coming in. Eventually they'll figure out that your house is no fun, and they'll leave you alone. It doesn't hurt to keep things super clean like you said before, because ants have a keen sense of smell, and they are super attracted to anything with sugar.

The 'little ant houses' are usually very effective. I have also found useful an 'ant pen', with which you draw a thick line of ant killing stuff in places where they come in to your home. It also helps to track down the nests outside and put powder in those, and to cover any tempting food that might be attracting the little blighters. Good luck!

My sister uses a little round tin Thing in numerous places in The house especially where they come in at (if you can locate where) I think has poison in it and when the ants take it back th their home the others eat it and die. I have heard and I'm not trying to be funny...that if nothing helps..just go ahead and feed them out side with some sweet goodies to keep them out. I would think that would be an ongoing job though.

There is probably a nest somewhere near the front or back door , or (i hope not) under your house. Your going to have to go out and find it. Look for a patch of grass that seems like its dying or just looks different(or dirt). Once you find it you can get a pesticide from a garden supply or anywhere really and follow the directions carefully and to the letter. It may take several treatments. If you cant find the nest you may have to call in professionals so they can find it and kill them.

I just read punchys remarks and she is correct. Ant granuales will work best but you need to put them outside or under your home, where the mound is. I have also used the Ant houses along my windows where they seem to favor coming in just to be on the safe side. It only took a few days and they were all gone.

i find Nippon the best ant killer . put it near any crevices or holes near point of entry. the workers bring it back too the colony where the queen will eat it and die . takes about a wk , so if you do it now , you will have no ants when the hot weather really kicks in . you can buy this from wilko"s for about a pound , enough to wipe out several nests , best of luck .

Ants hate talcum powder and salt. Spread it around the house and outside.
Find out where they are coming from ans bombard that area with talc and salt.
If they move, keep on their case until you have gotten rid of them.
Remember that an ant colony is always growing and growing and growing, so nuke the little blighters till their gone.

follow the trail of ants to their base camp - if its outdoors a kettle of boiling water down the nest-hole does the trick. If indoors, neat 'Nipon' goo can work. If you're a buddhist or dont like the thought of killing hundreds of tiny souls, then just ask them politely to leave, or learn to love them. Good luck!
