I don't think chipmunks are illegal anywhere considering they are a wild animal and found in most states. I'm not sure if you can own them as a pet tho. You would have to check with your local animal shelter to see.

Chipmunks go pretty much where they want to go. You must be thinking of some other animal that can be a pet. Chipmunks are really cute and fun to watch as we have a pair in our yard. But, they are wild, not pets.

All chipmunks are legal if they have their ID's on them.
