Yes the teacher should have been fired and the kids should have been suspended or expelled...thats a serious matter! And 6th graders are very young and naive, but seeing something like that go unpunished only shows them that you can do something bad, and not get any consequences. It also gives them a very screwed view of sex.

I don't think the teacher should be fired. I think I heard there were 32 students in that particular class. That's too many students for one teacher yet we expect the teacher to help the students, teach and monitor all the student's behavior. We need smaller classrooms but our hands are tied because we have a shortage of teachers. Hell, when I was in school back in the 80's we used to sneak out of the classroom and go in the bathroom or outside and smoke cigarettes and the teacher never knew.

The teacher? Why on earth should the teacher be fired?

It has been reported that as soon as the teacher realized something "inappropriate" was going that action was taken AND that the students were recommended for expulsion.

Those kids should be kicked out of school and their parents should have to do something to make up for how their children have disgraced the school and the school district!

How on earth can you blame a teacher for the actions of the students? Its not like the teacher encouraged or permitted it to go on and it was stopped immediately.
