I have Google Earth and I know he lived within the Zoo but I can't see any place with a house within the Zoo grounds. Also, I love animals, I want them to continue with preserving them but I also like to hunt. Kind of like the Aborginals of his land and the Native Americans of my lands. It is more of a respect, just a qucik kill and know toturing them at all. I know Steve ate meat so I am just wondering. Thanks.

I am NOT killing for pleasure either. I like to hunt for my food if I can.

Very few Australians hunt. We do a lot of fishing and some people enjoy going after feral animals like rabbits, pigs, goats, buffalo, camels, donkeys etc but that's about it. Duck hunting has been banned in some States and is temporarily on hold in others because of the drought. You need a licence to kill any native animal and apart from duck hunting, these are only granted to professionals.

Steve Irwin probably shot a few rabbits in his time but hunting isn't big in Australia. People who take pride in killing animals unnecessarily are considered a bit odd.

Where Did Steve Irwin Live

As far as I know, from listening to Terri, the family home is within the grounds of Australia Zoo.

She said it is a very unassuming 3 bedroom home, much like any other Australian family would live in. There are quite a few similar homes at the zoo, all housing zoo staff.

I believe the Irwin home is the original family home from when Steve's parents ran a small fauna park, pre Australia Zoo.

I don't believe he shot and killed animals. I should think he bought his meat at the butcher shop like everyone else.

Very few people in Australia hunt for pleasure. The majority of hunting is of feral animals (pigs, foxes, goats, rabbits etc), which destroy the environment and decimate the local fauna and flora.

The indigenous people of Australia, as far as I know, didn't and don't kill for the pleasure of it but to survive.

As a country we are not "gun-happy".

Steve Irwin hunted wild pigs for crocodile bait, in one episode he catches one with the help of his dog Sui while carrying a rifle. So yes Steve in his own way was a hunter.

I think the Irwin home is located at the edge of, or just outside of the zoo.

No he did not hunt. Ever, that I am aware of.

The killing of animals here in Oz (such as kangaroos, wild pigs etc) is usually for culling or living on the land and supplying food for the family.

There are hunting organisations that do it for trophies and 'the thrill' though.

I think it is a little creepy that you are searching for the Irwin's family home on google earth! Are you planning to drop in for a cuppa?
