Get her something better than a barbie, but a laptop is a bad investment. If anything, a desktop. Unless you're moneybags, a laptop will probably fry itself crispy without proper usage. A 10 year old will probably want to take that thing everywhere, and things like that. The laptop will get damaged, and burn up. They are not as reliable as people think. There is also the possibility of it getting stolen. Unless your child is computer inclined, its probably not a good idea.

I am assuming that it's for a girl, right? Then probably a barbie. I know ten year olds that still play with them. It's allowed. Is the laptop in question one of those that are meant for the younger generation?

A Barbie. At 10 she should play, not sit in front of a laptop.

Considering where the better schools age going now days she probably already had a laptop computer. Perhaps you should buy her parents some classes in how to monitor a child's activities on a computer. This is the computer age and children are exposed to new dangers by the use of them. But the computer genie is already out and child protection for parents is a full time job.

Well if a boy lap-top If a girl it depends there personalty
If like things like bratz and polly pockets it might suite them but on the other hand babribies are know as 4-7 toys
A laotop would be nice for tyem if u can a afford it but Its not what u give them its the thought and hope u remember that

I would say neither. A laptop (assuming that's what you meant) is too old and too much responsibility for a 10yr old, and a Barbie, well, unless she's really into them..... they're just kind of boring. Why not a good board game, or something for her to play with outside, or a gift card for going clothes shopping?

i would get her a laptop. 10th bdays r really special (to them becuase they treat it like a sweet 16 b/c there "double digits") and laptops r cooler. a barbie would not be as special as a laptop. also while ur getting her a computer type thing get her a webkinz. they have them at hallmark stores and if u ask an employee they will tell you more about them.

I have a new suggestion. How about a Webkinz? Webkinz is a plush stuffed animal that comes with a secret code. You type it in on www.webkinz.com and your pet comes to life! I'm a tomboy, so I made my pets tomboys! So they'd be like me! There a games, a gem hunt, you can dress your pet, and decorate a room! You get KinsCash to buy things. I have 6 Webkinz now! You could find them at your local Hallmark store. Good Luck!!!!! and Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
