ok well, I did consider it a couple of months ago.
I decided against it as the person I was going to write to had told a lie about his crime, he said he had been done for two traffic dui offences, and when I checked on the internet ( you can look at peoples records) he had done much more, that kind of gave me the chills.
Having said that, I do think it would make someones day, even though I fully agree they should be there to be punished.

At the moment I am writing to 2 American Prisoner's. One of them is for life. Some Prisoner's look forward to receiving letter's from someone on the 'outside', as some of them have no family or friends, so it's the only contact they have. And it's a way of letting them know they haven't been completely forgotten about. It's rewarding and an eye opening experience for the writer. How meny people really know what it's like to be locked up for 23 hours a day year in year out?

God no.you would have accurate be battier than batmans cave to attempt this. yet i did see on a documentary a at the same time as back how this lady in a state reformatory positioned an advert in a paper searching for a husband, she used a photograph of a attractive lady even inspite of the actuality that she replaced into as grotesque as sin.to respond to her advert you had to pay $10 dollar fee,she ended up getting truckloads of mail and earned a million in a unmarried month.apparently she broke no regulations and replaced into allowed to save the money.

If and when I write it's usually to an "Amnesty" prisoner abroad who's there for their belief's and very often at risk of execution. I do wonder at all the young people who end up in prison in this country and how they must feel. Maybe if more people wrote and befriended them - there'd be fewer suicides. But I agree - if they're guilty...they deserve to lose their freedom.

I certainly would't write to anyone I didnt know and I might not write to anyone I did know it the crime was sufficiently awful, like child abuse or paedopholia. For other crimes it would depend on how well I knew the person or how much I loved them, provided that love had not been killed because of their crime.

All of these above answers are ignorant. If ya'll were in prison, and nobody ever wrote you, wouldn't you want somebody to write you? Even if it were a stranger? If you have not love, you have nothing.... Love keeps no record of wrongs. 1 Corinthians 13

Yeah, I was actually thinking of doing that! Just haven't gotten around to it!!
I did actually write a letter to someone, but never sent it. I do that quite a lot actually!
Are you planning to do so?

I would never consider doing that. First I have too many other responsibilities on my plate for that kind of luxury. Second, why? I have no empathy for criminals. I follow the law and expect others to do the same.

I have before but only because i knew someone in there and they asked me to write to there friend to as he never received any mail, It gives them something to look forward to. he hadn't done anything to bad... i wouldn't advise you to write to someone who has done anything awfull.
