I would suggest you to contact the bank for settlement. Visit their website to find out the email address.

Good luck.

Your unsettled dues are no reason for a travel ban.

The banks in UAE will love you for coming back. For unsettled dues with your banks you got reported to the Central Bank, Credit Bureaus, other Banks and other financial institutions.

By signing the credit card contract you authorised your bank to exchange any kind of information with other financial institutions.

To settle the outstanding amount only makes sense if you are able to pay the whole amount at once. Monthly payment will not be accepted because without a residence visa you are "untouchable" and no legal actions can take place.

Come here on a visit visa and clear things out with your banks. You will have to pay a fee as "punishment" and interest on the outstanding amount.

The easiest way: get in touch with you bank, ask for the outstanding amount ad pay it off while you are still in your homecountry. It is possible to transfer money from any bank to any other bank no matter if it's an international operating bank or not.

Take care and all the best.

Where did you send the email to? Service Center? That won't help. Make a phone call and talk to that person being responsible for your account. You are willing to straight things out? You know your account number, so transfer the outstanding amount plus interest favouring your account. E mail me and I'll try to guide you. I am living in Abu Dhabi, too.

I have been travelng in and out of the GCC for many years and made a mistake once of leaving and not paying off my credit card bills. I was leaving for a holiday and got caught up in family business and didn't come back. They can - and will - depending on the amount - prosecute. That means - and this is current as of August last year - put you in jail and you don't get out till the debt is paid. This is HSBC bank in Al AIn, UAE.
I know this or a fact - I worked at IAT and they did this to a teacher for leaving without paying back bills.
Pay before going to Dubai or even landing there and staying in the internation transfer section. There is always the possibility that they will grab you. UAE is on top of things - believe me.

if it is a International bank you can contact their branch in your country and discuss and if it is a national bank then contact them by corrospondence and settle, defintely there will be a travel ban if you have not settled the bank dues.
