I don't see why not. You don't mention what your doubts about it are. If you don't mind hormones, then go for it. I chose the Copper IUD, because I didn't want to be taking hormones, and I ended up having to take hormones anyway, cuz my bleeding never seemed to stop.

When I first heard about this I thought great I wont have to worry anymore about missed pills fallen off patch etc. So I went ahead and got the IUD. It hurt alot to have put in then it fell and I had to have another reinserted. I went home and had it in for about three months. The entire time I never stopped bleeding and I was always crampy. Then one day at work it got so bad I got really dizzy and passed out. I was then rushed to the E.D. While I was there I experienced many episodes of altered alertness this continued for 2 weeks before my doctor suggested I have it removed because all my test that were done all proved to be normal and he believed it was my bodies way of trying to respond and cope with the problems my IUD was giving me. I thought he was full of it but had it taken out any-way's. Since then I've been fine I now use the Nuvaring and love it.

After much though, I went with Mirena as my birth control. I used the pill on and off for years, but I am forgetful and really didn't want to chance having another (I have 4 now). I am overweight and my doctor did not suggest having the shot since that can cause women to gain weight. It didn't take long to put it in, although it did pinch a little and I recently had my first period after it was in and it was a little heavier than usual but other than that I have had no problems with it

MIRENA IUD is a hormone loaded device inserted in the uterus to prevent unwanted pregnancy.

Inserting Mirena is a fairly pain less procedure.

The amount of Hormones released in the body per day is Miniscule, ( In Micrograms i.e. one thousandth of a miligram)
the side effects are minimal.if any.

It is a very reliable and good method for contraception.
It works for 5 years.
The amount of menstrual flow becomes less.

Thus it is ideal for a lady who has completed her family
but does not want a surgical sterilisation operation.

Only down side is its cost ,around Rs. 10 to 11 thousand.

I don't know what your situation is, but I'm thinking about getting it after I have my baby. My best friend has it, and it works very well for her. No unexpected pregnancies, lighter periods, no pain (besides a bit of discomfort the day they put it in).

Ehh i wouldnt suggest that to nobody! just because in my experience it felt like someone was ripping my insides out! and they couldnt do it all of the way because they poked a hole in my uterus! and the cramps afterwards are very very painful!...But maybe everyone is different, i dont know but from what i went through trying to have it done, i wouldnt if i were you!...
