I have read articles where if you have shorter periods you ovulate sooner and if you have longer periods you ovulate later in your cycle. Well could you have longer periods and ovulate sooner?
I think that is what I did. I'm not real sure when I ovulated, but I have a pretty good idea. I am pregnant now and was just wondering. My LMP was 7/19/06 and ovulated around 8/3/06. That is sooner and sounds like someone with a 28 day period. My periods are always 34-42 days. Just depends. Mainly they are 34 and 35 days. Just curious. Thanks.

Hi Friend,

I have been searching the net on info for you about this and here is what i have came up with.

Myth: I ovulate at the same time every month.
Truth: Most women ovulate around the middle of their cycles, but the exact day they ovulate maybe different from one cycle to another. The Standard Days Method™ helps a woman identify her entire fertile window, taking into account that it is not the same every cycle.

Actually, a woman can get pregnant if she has sex up to five days before she ovulates. That's right -- she can get pregnant on Wednesday if she had sex last Saturday. A man's sperm can live for up to five days in the woman's body. So some sperm could still be in her body - waiting for the egg to come out when she ovulates. The Standard Days Method™ takes into account that there is a "fertile window" during which it is possible for a woman to get pregnant. This fertile window includes a few days before ovulation and the day of ovulation. It also considers that ovulation can happen any time over a period of several days, around the middle of the woman's menstrual cycle. That is why it is important for a woman using the Standard Days Method™ to realize that she could get pregnant if she has sex on Days 8 through 19 of her cycle.
For women who have a 28 to 32 day menstrual cycle, ovulation can take place between days 11 through 21.

Hope this sheds some light on what you are trying to figure out. Talk to you later and good luck!

Yes, that sounds about right. My cycles are 28 days, and I ovulate around anywhere from day 8 to day 13.
